When you need storage during a move

Most people need storage because two dates do not line up. The sale completes before the new place is ready, a tenancy ends before a purchase does, or a renovation means the furniture has to be somewhere else for a few weeks. Sometimes it is simpler than that: downsizing, clearing a spare room, or holding a relative's belongings while the family decides what to keep.

In every one of those cases the storage itself is the easy part. The awkward part is getting everything in, keeping track of it, and getting it back out to the right address on the right day. That is the part we do.

How it works with us

We arrange the storage and handle every move in and out, so you deal with one company from the first call to the final delivery. We collect from your home or business, take everything to the store, and bring it back when you are ready, to the same address or a new one.

Because the same team loads the van at your end and unloads it into storage, things go in the way they will need to come out: heavy furniture at the back, labelled boxes facing outwards, and anything you might want early near the front.

Packing for storage is different

Things that are fine for a two-hour move are not always fine for three months in a store. Boxes should be full and taped so they stack without crushing. Sofas and mattresses should be wrapped rather than left open. Fridges, freezers and washing machines need to be defrosted, drained and dry before they go in, or they come back smelling of it.

We can do the packing for you, or just the fragile things, as part of the same job. It is the difference between opening boxes months later and finding everything as it went in, and finding it has spent the whole time under something heavier.

Keep a simple list of what went into storage, room by room. It makes the delivery at the other end easy to check, and when you want one particular box back, you know which one to ask for.
