Who we are

Move Mate is a trading name of MOVEMATE LOGISTICS LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under number 15810051, with its registered office at 331 Wauluds Bank Drive, Luton, England, LU3 3NF.

We are the data controller for information collected through this website. For anything in this policy, contact us at info@movematelogistics.co.uk.

What we collect, and when

We only collect information you choose to give us. There is no account to create and no login.

When you send an enquiry through the contact form, we collect your name, phone number, email address, the service you are asking about, and whatever you write in the message.

When you use the quote tool, we send the two postcodes you enter to postcodes.io, a public UK postcode service, to work out the distance between them. Those postcodes are not stored by us and are not connected to your name or any other detail.

If you call, email or message us on WhatsApp instead, we hold whatever you tell us in that conversation, in the same way any business holds a message from a customer.

What we do with it

• Reply to your enquiry and give you a price
• Arrange and carry out the job if you go ahead
• Contact you about that job while it is in progress
• Keep a record of work done, as any business must

Our lawful basis

For replying to an enquiry, the basis is legitimate interests: you contacted us asking for a price, so answering you is what you would expect.

For carrying out a job you have booked, the basis is performance of a contract.

For keeping records of completed work, the basis is legal obligation, principally tax and accounting requirements.

We do not send marketing to people who have only asked for a quote, and we do not sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.

Who else sees it

Enquiries sent through the contact form are delivered to our inbox by Resend, an email delivery service. Your message passes through their systems to reach us.

This website is hosted by Vercel, so requests to the site pass through their infrastructure. We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which measure page views and performance without cookies and without identifying individual visitors.

If you accept analytics on the cookie banner, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity measure how the site is used, and Google Tag Manager loads them. If you accept advertising, Google Ads and Meta measure whether an advert led to an enquiry. None of these runs unless you have said yes, and our cookie policy sets out exactly what each one does.

Postcodes entered into the quote tool are sent to postcodes.io purely for a distance lookup.

If a job needs a subcontractor, for example a licensed haulier for a heavy load or a partner for storage or European delivery, we pass on only what they need to do the work: usually the addresses, the contact name and a phone number.

We do not sell your information to anyone.

How we measure the site, and what we do not send

Where measurement is switched on, we deliberately keep personal detail out of it. Enquiry forms send the postcode area only — LU3, not the full postcode — because a full postcode identifies a household, and nothing analytics does needs one. Names, phone numbers, email addresses and the text of your message are never sent to an analytics or advertising provider.

When you send an enquiry we attach how you reached the site, such as the search or the advert that brought you, to that enquiry. It tells us which of our channels is worth the money. It is kept with the enquiry and goes nowhere else.

You can turn all of this off, or back on, from the Cookie Settings link at the foot of any page.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into a job are kept while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period after, in case you come back to us, then deleted.

Records of completed jobs are kept for six years after the end of the relevant financial year, which is what tax law requires.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, object to how we are using it, or ask us to restrict what we do with it.

Email info@movematelogistics.co.uk and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or by calling 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If what we do with your information changes, this page changes with it, and the date below changes too.
