The part decides whether the bay earns
A vehicle on a ramp waiting for a part is a bay not earning, a technician not working and a customer being rung back. The delivery is not a logistics problem at that point — it is the job.
So the trade needs two different things from a courier, and they are not the same service. One is the scheduled round: the same collection from the same factors at the same times, feeding the workshop's normal day. The other is the call-out, where something has been diagnosed, the part is twenty miles away and it is needed before the customer is quoted a second day.
We do both, on a dedicated van. The part is not consolidated with other freight and it does not sit in a depot, because on a vehicle-off-road job an overnight hub is the whole problem.
What the motor trade actually sends
Mechanical parts and service items make up most of it, and they are straightforward. The ones worth flagging when you book are the awkward three: body panels, glass and trim.
Panels mark if they are stacked or strapped against an edge, glass needs to travel upright and secured, and trim scratches against anything. All three travel blanket-wrapped in a van with nothing else in it, which is exactly the situation a network cannot offer.
Batteries, oils and anything classified as hazardous need agreeing in advance rather than being sent unannounced. Tell us what it is and we will tell you straight away whether it can go.

How the price works
Single jobs are priced on distance and vehicle, the same as any same-day collection. Tell us both ends and roughly what is going and you get a figure on the spot.
A repeating round is priced as a standing job rather than quoted every morning, which is almost always cheaper than booking the same route as a series of one-offs.
Business quotes can be shown excluding VAT, and rates are agreed against your actual pattern of work rather than a general price list.

Common questions
Can you collect from a motor factor on our account?
Yes. Give us the factor, your account reference and the collection details, and the driver collects in your name. It is one of the most common things we are asked to set up.
Do you carry body panels and glass?
Yes, and they travel in a van with nothing else in it, blanket-wrapped and secured. Flag them when you book so the right vehicle and the right restraint come — a panel laid flat against another panel is how they get marked.
Can you run the same route every day?
Yes, and that is the work this is built for. Tell us the points, the days and the times and it is priced as a standing job. Where the schedule allows we keep the same driver on it, so they already know the trade counter and who signs.
What about a vehicle off road late in the day?
Booked collections can be at any hour, including overnight and early morning, and enquiries are welcome any time. Tell us when you need the part in the bay and we will confirm a collection time before you commit.
Can you handle multi-drop rounds to several garages?
Yes. Several drops on one run usually costs less than booking each separately. Give us the addresses in the order you want them done and any site-specific detail once — it stays on the account.
