One pallet to a full load
A single pallet or a few of them go on our own vans, direct from collection to delivery. Nothing is tipped into a pallet network, so it does not get handled four times by four different people on its way across the country.
Heavier and larger consignments than a van can legally carry are arranged with licensed hauliers running their own vehicles. You deal with us, we deal with them, and the job is priced as one job.
That distinction matters when you are comparing quotes: a pallet network is cheap because your pallet travels with everybody else's and gets moved between hubs overnight. Direct movement costs more and arrives the way it left.
What a pallet needs before it travels
Three things decide whether a pallet arrives intact, and all three are within your control before we get there.
Wrap it properly and wrap it to the pallet, not just around the goods — a load that can shift on the base is a load that will. Keep the weight low and even rather than stacked tall on one side. Keep everything inside the footprint of the pallet, because anything overhanging gets caught.
Then tell us what is at each end. A tail lift, a forklift, a loading bay or none of those changes which vehicle we send, and finding out on arrival that there is no way to get a 400kg pallet off the van costs everybody a morning.

How the price is worked out
Freight is priced by the space and weight it takes rather than per item, plus the distance. A single pallet on a long run and four pallets on a short one can come out close to each other.
What we need to price it: the number of pallets, their rough dimensions and weight, both postcodes, and what is available to load and unload at each end. Tell us if either end needs a tail lift.
Where the load is beyond what a van can take, we price the haulier's vehicle into the same quote rather than handing you a second supplier. Business quotes can be shown excluding VAT.

Common questions
How big is a standard pallet?
A standard UK pallet is 1200mm by 1000mm, and a Euro pallet is 1200mm by 800mm. Height and weight matter as much as the footprint, so send us both — a tall, light load and a short, heavy one need different vehicles.
Do I need a forklift?
Not necessarily. Tell us what is available at each end and we will send a vehicle that suits it — a tail lift and a pump truck handle most pallets where there is no forklift and no loading bay. What we cannot do is guess, so it is the first thing to tell us.
Can you collect a pallet from a house?
Yes. Residential collections are normal for us and are exactly the kind of job pallet networks make difficult. We will need to know about the approach, because a large vehicle cannot always get down a residential street.
What if my load is too big for a van?
It is arranged with a licensed haulier operating their own vehicle, priced into the same quote and managed by us. You do not end up dealing with two companies.
How should I prepare the pallet?
Wrap it to the pallet rather than around the goods, keep the weight low and even, and keep everything within the footprint of the base. Label it clearly with the delivery address. If you are not set up to wrap pallets, say so when you book.
