What a house removal with Move Mate involves
A full house move is surveyed before it is priced, so the figure you agree is the figure you pay. We look at how much there is, what needs dismantling, how the van will get near each door, and whether there are stairs or a lift at either end. Those four things decide how long the day takes and what it costs.
On the day, the crew loads in an order that suits unloading at the other end, not just what is nearest the door. Furniture that comes apart is taken apart and rebuilt where you want it. Boxes go to the room they are labelled for, which is the single best reason to label them.
If your completion date moves, and in a chain it often does, tell us as soon as you know. Re-booking a week out is straightforward. Re-booking the night before depends on what else is in the diary.
Before the van arrives
Three things make a move cheaper and calmer, and all three are within your control. Pack early, label by room rather than by contents, and sort out parking at both ends.
Parking is the one people forget. If you are on a permit street or a red route, a suspension or a permit needs arranging with the council in advance, usually at least a week. A van that cannot get near the door turns a four-hour job into a six-hour one.
Set aside the things you need on the first night and carry them yourself: kettle, bedding, chargers, medication, documents. They always end up in the last box otherwise.

How the price is worked out
House removals are quoted as a fixed price after a survey, not charged by the hour. That is deliberate: an hourly job that overruns has no ceiling, and moving day is not when you want an open-ended bill.
The survey can be done in person or over video, whichever suits. It takes about twenty minutes and it is free. What changes the price is the volume of what is moving, the distance, the access at both ends, and how much packing you want us to do.
Quotes are inclusive of VAT. Anything that could become an extra, such as a parking suspension or a specialist item, is discussed before you book rather than added afterwards.

How far in advance should I book?
Two to four weeks is comfortable for a full house move, and more around the end of the month when demand peaks. We do take shorter notice when we have a van free.
Do you dismantle and reassemble furniture?
Yes. Beds, wardrobes and flat-pack units are taken apart and put back together as part of the move.
What happens if my completion date moves?
Tell us as soon as you know. Dates move often in a chain and we will re-book you for the new day wherever we have capacity.
