Dental practices and dental labs move work back and forth every day: impressions and models out to the lab, finished crowns, bridges and dentures back to the practice in time for the patient's appointment. Optical practices do the same with frames and glazing labs. The work is small, but the timing is everything, because a patient is booked in for a fitting.
That is what a scheduled round is for. We collect from each practice at a set time, deliver to the lab, and bring the finished work back on the return leg. The practice knows when the driver comes, the lab knows when the work arrives, and nobody is phoning round to find out where a case is.
