About Move Mate
A family-run transport business. We move parcels, pallets and freight anywhere in the UK, and we move homes and offices across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and the towns between.
Two businesses that made more sense as one
Move Mate started as a courier operation in Luton, moving urgent parcels and pallets for businesses that could not wait for a network carrier. The removals side grew alongside it, because the same vans and the same people were already doing both.
For a while they ran as two separate brands, which mostly confused customers who had used us for one and did not know we did the other. So we brought them together. One name, one number, one company, whether you are sending a pallet to Birmingham or moving a three-bed in Dunstable.
We are a young company and we would rather say so than invent a history. What we do have is a full book of five-star reviews from the customers we have served so far, and a straightforward way of working that we are not planning to outgrow.
What that actually means on the day
Every courier says they are reliable and careful. Here is what we do instead of saying it.
A confirmed time, not a window
Before anything moves you get a collection time and a price, both agreed in writing. We would rather tell you it is a three-hour job up front than surprise you at the end.
The price does not move
Courier work is priced on distance and vehicle and confirmed before booking. Removals are surveyed and fixed. Anything that could become an extra is discussed first.
Proof it arrived
A photo and a signature sent to your phone on delivery, and the driver's number while the job is live. Goods in transit cover throughout.
You speak to the people doing it
No call centre and no ticket number. The person who answers is the person arranging the van, which is why questions get answered in one call.
We would rather lose the job than oversell it
- If a man and van is cheaper than a full removal for your job, we say so
- If a next-day service would do, we will not sell you same-day
- If we cannot do something, we tell you rather than take the booking
- Storage and European work is arranged through partners, and we say which is which
